St Ursula's College Parents and Friends Association works hand in hand with the staff, parents and students.

All parents and carers are invited to attend the once a term meetings, which give them a first hand opportunity to hear what is happening in their daughter's school.

MEETING DATES 2008

At St Ursula’s College we have four P & F meetings a year.

These meetings are held on the 4th Monday of each term, at 7.30pm in the staff room.

We have one fundraising function a year but our P & F is more than just a fundraiser. Coming along to the meetings you will be the first to hear what is happening at the school and be part of the decision making process.

Dates for meetings this year:  18/2/08

                                               19/5/08

                                               11/8/08

                                               3/11/08

We welcome all new families and look forward to catching up with you at our next meeting.

 FAMILIES MATTER

Families Matter is a program we run at St Ursula’s developed by The Australian Council of State Organisations and The Australian Parents Council.

Families Matter is an initiative which seeks to encourage families and schools to work in partnership to promote the health and well being of young people. Health and well being includes the emotional and spiritual resilience which enables us to bounce back and successfully adapt to adversity.

There are many issues and challenges that impact on young people today and they occur at a time when these young people decline to talk and connect with parents and carers. A sense of connectedness to families and school is the most significant protective factor for young people.

At St Ursula’s we aim to strengthen and develop the partnership between school and home. This program is run by parents but we work very closely with a staff representative to achieve our goals.

We have four functions a year covering topics suggested by parents in order to learn ourselves so we can help our children.

Functions are held at the school from 7.30pm to 9.30pm

Functions this year:  26/2/08 on Depression

17/3/08 on Cyber Bullying & the Internet

6/5/08 on Alcohol and Safe Partying

                               23/6/08 on Restorative Justice

All information is printed in the Serviam closer to each function.  The evenings are fun and informative and they build a better sense of community for our children and families.

We are happy to hear from any parents with new ideas and would love as many parents to be part of the program as possible.

Any queries can be sent through the office to Carran Bradley.
